Fact finding inquiry on interactivity
Extension of deadline for submission of comments
In Public Notice CRTC 2001-113 dated 2 November 2001, the Commission called for comments to gather facts on broadcasters', producers' and distributors' current and planned interactivity. The deadline for filing written comments was 15 January 2002.
At the joint request of the Canadian Cable Television Association and the Canadian Association of Broadcasters, the Commission extends the deadline for the filing of comments to 15 February 2002.

The Commission will follow a two-stage process for the submission of comments. First stage comments must be submitted by no later than by Friday, 7 September 2001. In the second stage, interested parties may file further comments with respect to the Commission's proposals or comments on the submissions filed in the first stage. Second round comments must be filed with the Commission by no later than Friday, 26 October 2001.

Digital migration issues - Reconvening of working group regarding large cable systems, and; Call for comments regarding small cable systems
This notice announces the Commission's intention that the Digital Migration Working Group reconvene, following the launch of the new digital specialty services, to resolve outstanding migration issues affecting large cable systems. In this notice, the Commission also calls for comments on various questions concerning digital migration issues, as they relate to small cable systems.
The Commission will hold a two-stage written comment process for this proceeding. In the first stage, the Commission will accept comments that it receives on or before 22 June 2001. The Commission invites interested parties then to file further comments, including replies to any of those submitted during the first stage. Parties will have until 6 July 2001 to do so.

This will be followed by a second written process to allow any party to file a reply to a comment filed with the Commission during the first phase. The Commission will accept all such replies that it receives on or before 27 June 2001.

Call for comments on proposals by sponsors for the addition of non-Canadian satellite services to a digital list of eligible satellite services
In Public Notice CRTC 2000-173 dated 14 December 2000, the Commission issued a call for proposals by Canadian sponsors for the addition to the lists of eligible satellite services of non-Canadian services that would be available for distribution on a digital basis only. In the present notice, the Commission now invites public comment on the specific services that have been proposed.
Call for comments
Interested parties wishing to file comments on any of the sponsored non-Canadian services listed in the appendix are invited to do so. They should also submit a true copy of their comments to the appropriate Canadian sponsor, or sponsors if there is more than one for a given service, at the addresses provided in the appendix. Proof that comments have been sent to sponsors must accompany the original of the comments sent to the Commission.
Comments must be received by the CRTC and by the Canadian sponsors on or before2 April 2001.
Parties should clearly identify the request or requests to which their comments apply. They should also indicate whether they support, oppose, or propose changes to the requests, and should include the facts and grounds therefor.
Those identified in the appendix as sponsors of requests filed pursuant to PN 2000-173 may file a written reply to any comments received concerning their requests. Such replies should be filed with the Commission, and a copy sent to the person who submitted the comments by no later than 2 May 2001.
