MARC PATRONE began his appointment as Commissioner on March 19, 2008.
An experienced broadcast journalist, Mr. Patrone is known for his coverage of regional business and cultural affairs. Prior to his appointment, he spent 14 years as a legislative and general assignment reporter with CTV Atlantic. From 1990 to 1992, he managed Atlantic Television System’s news bureau in Bathurst, New Brunswick, where he was responsible for the editorial, technical and administrative aspects of the station’s news broadcast.
He has also served as a producer, writer, reporter and videographer with Atlantic Television System; a reporter and videographer with the Global Television Network; and a news anchor and sports reporter with Scarborough Television. Between 1981 and 1987, he worked in the operations departments of Citytv and MuchMusic, contributing to the technical production of such shows as City Lights and The New Music.
During his career, Mr. Patrone gained extensive exposure regionally in Atlantic Canada, nationally on CTV News and CTV Newsnet, and internationally on CNN and ESPN. He is a graduate of Centennial College’s Radio and Television Arts program.
His term ends on March 18, 2013.
