Louise Poirier

Photo: Louise Poirier LOUISE POIRIER began her term as Commissioner on August 11, 2008.

A municipal councillor for the City of Gatineau between 1999 and 2008, she held many responsibilities including that of President of the Société de transport de l’Outaouais. Before entering municipal politics, she spent 15 years in the communications field. Ms. Poirier served as Director General of Télé-Québec Outaouais’ regional office and as a member of its Board of Directors. She was also a host and journalist for numerous radio and television shows, including Les Flâneries du samedi, Ce Soir and Bouffée de santé.

Ms. Poirier has been involved in her community for many years. She served as President of Outaouais United Way Campaign and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for the foundation of the Centre de santé et des services sociaux de l’Outaouais. Ms. Poirier holds a Master of Human Kinetics from the Université Laval and completed studies in Finance and Marketing from l’École des hautes études commerciales.

Her term ends on August 10, 2013.
