Decision

Ottawa, 25 April 1996
Decision CRTC 96-113
Cogeco Câble Canada inc.
Trois-Rivières and Louiseville, Quebec - 951896000 - 951951300
 Licence amendment
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-19 dated 13 February 1996, the Commission approves, by condition of licence, the application by Cogeco Câble Canada inc. to distribute the extra-regional signal of CBFT (CBC) Montréal, received via satellite, on the basic service of the cable distribution undertaking serving Trois-Rivières, due to the poor reception quality of the signal, received over the air, as confirmed by the Department of Industry.
The licensee also requested authority to distribute CBFT (CBC) Montréal, received via satellite, as part of the basic service of the cable distribution undertaking serving Louiseville. The Commission notes that the Louiseville undertaking is regulated pursuant to Part III of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 and that a CBC French-language television service appears on the list of Part III Eligible Canadian Satellite Services. Therefore, the licensee is not required to obtain Commission approval in order to distribute CBFT, as part of the basic service.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
