Decision

Ottawa, 20 December 1996
Decision CRTC 96-806
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
St. John's and Lamaline, Newfoundland - 199607363
Licence amendment for CBNT
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-139 dated 17 October 1996, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CBNT St. John's by decreasing the effective radiated power of its transmitter CBNT-35 Lamaline from an effective radiated power of 6,420 watts to a transmitter power of 100 watts.
The Commission notes that although the coverage area will decrease, the CBC indicated that the change would not affect the service to the population in the area.
The Commission hereby authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned changes.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
