Decision

Ottawa, 20 December 1996
Decision CRTC 96-809
Cogeco Câble inc.
Rimouski (Zone 1), Matane (Zone 2), Mont-Joli (Zone 3), Amqui (Zone 4) and Sainte-Anne-des-Monts (Zone 5), Quebec - 199609591
Licence amendment
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-139 dated 17 October 1996, the Commission approves, by condition of licence, the licensee's request to be relieved from the requirement of subsection 16(2) of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 to distribute priority audio programming services on unrestricted audio channels in Zone 4 (Amqui) and Zone 5 (Sainte-Anne-des-Monts) of the undertaking serving the above-noted localities.
The Commission notes that the licensee indicated that its undertaking does not offer any audio signals in these zones. The licensee further indicated that these priority signals are receivable over the air. The Commission is thus satisfied that the licensee has taken into consideration the expectations of its subscribers when submitting this application.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
