The Commission has received the following applications:
ATLANTIC AND QUEBEC REGION
1.  CANNING AND SURROUNDING AREAS, Nova Scotia
Application (199605005) by CROSS COUNTRY T.V. LIMITED, P.O. Box 310, Canning, Nova Scotia, B0P 1H0, to amend the broadcasting licence of the (radiocommunication) distribution undertaking serving Canning and surrounding areas, as follows:
-  by deleting the distribution of WTOL-TV (CBS) Toledo, Ohio and WDIV (NBC) Detroit, Michigan and replacing them, respectively, with WBZ (CBS) Boston and WHDH (NBC) Boston, Massachusetts; and
-  by adding the distribution, in encrypted mode, of the following signals, using low power television transmitters:
 The Discovery Channel
 CBC Newsworld
 WCBV-TV (ABC) Boston, Massachusetts
 Arts & Entertainment (A&E)
 WSBK-TV Boston, Massachusetts
 WTBS Atlanta, Georgia
on c hannels 16, 26, 30, 33, 39, 43, 49 and deleting channel 28 with a transmitter power of 16 watts.

Application (199603304) by CÂBLE AXION DIGITEL INC., 2980 Miletta Road, R.R. #4, Magog, Quebec, J1X 5R9, to change the authorized service area of the (cable) distribution undertaking serving Compton, by including the following areas for a total of 1100 additional households:
-  an area northeast of Saint-Isidore-d'Auckland, including the hamlets of Flanders, Island Brook, Lawrence Colony as well as the municipalities of Scotstown, Notre-Dame-des-Bois and Chartierville;
-  areas surrounding the municipality of La Patrie, including the hamlets of Petit-Québec, West Ditton and La Petite-Angleterre; and
-  an area east of the Développement Nadeau.
The Commission has also received an application from La Patrie Vidéo inc. to extend the authorized service area of the undertaking serving La Patrie to include West Ditton.

Application (199607610) by VIDÉOTRON INC., 300 Viger Avenue East, 6th Floor, Montréal, Quebec, H2X 3W4, to change the authorized service area of the (cable) distribution undertaking serving Dolbeau, by including an area extending 1.3 km to the northwest on Highway 373 (Côteau Marcel, Albanel area), for a total of 55 potential households. No new municipality is added. The services offered to this new area will be the same as for Dolbeau.

Application (199602123) by LA PATRIE VIDÉO INC., P.O. Box 210, La Patrie, Quebec, J0B 1Y0, to change the authorized service area of the (cable) distribution undertaking serving La Patrie, by including West Ditton, for a total of 52 additional households.
The Commission has also received an application from Câble Axion Digitel inc. to change the authorized service area of the undertaking serving Compton to include several adjacent areas including West Ditton.
