POLICY ON VIOLENCE IN TELEVISION PROGRAMMING
The Commission has received the following applications:
ONTARIO REGION
1. F ORT ERIE/NIAGARA FALLS, Ontario
Applications (951414200, 951415900) by CJRN 710 INC. to amend the broadcasting licence of the (radio) programming undertaking CKEY-FM Fort Erie/Niagara Falls as follows:
- by increasing the effective radiated power from 8,670 to 19,700 watts; and
- by adding an FM transmitter at St. Catharines, Ontario operating on frequency 101.1 Mhz (channel 266A) with an effective radiated power of 150 watts. The Commission notes that this transmitter will be a co-channel, synchronous repeater of CKEY-FM.
The licensee has stated that these changes will improve reception of CKEY-FM throughout its coverage area, particularly within the town of St. Catharines.
