AGT LIMITED - INTRODUCTION OF PROVINCIAL E9-1-1 SERVICE

Reference: Tariff Notice 699

The Commission has received an application from AGT Limited (AGT), dated 22 November 1995, for the approval of tariff revisions providing for the introduction of Provincial E9-1-1 Service.

In association with the Tariff Notice, AGT filed for approval proposed agreements between it and the participating municipality and/or government authority (municipal) regarding (1) the provision of the proposed service, and (2) optional billing and collection arrangements whereby the company would collect, on behalf of the participating municipalities, a monthly charge from local subscribers pertaining to the costs incurred by the municipalities with respect to the answering of 9-1-1 calls. The proposed Tariff Notice and agreements also contain terms and conditions which, among other things, set out each party's liability in the provision of E9-1-1 Service and the billing and collection arrangements.
