Decision

Ottawa, 25 April 1997
Decision CRTC 97-169
Mediavation inc.
Québec, Quebec - 199611570
New radio network
1.  Following a Public Hearing in Montréal beginning on 24 February 1997, the Commission approves the application by Mediavation inc. for a French-language radio network licence for the purpose of broadcasting the hockey games of the Rafales de Québec of the International Hockey League.
2.  The Commission will issue a network licence expiring at the end of the 2001-2002 hockey season, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued. The licence term granted herein, while less than the maximum of seven years permitted under the Broadcasting Act, will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of this licence in accordance with the Commission's regional plan and to better distribute the workload within the Commission.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
