Decision

Ottawa, 21 February 1997
Decision CRTC 97-79
Regional Cable TV Inc.
Lac-Nominingue, Quebec - 199611497
Interconnection and licence amendments
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-158 dated 19 December 1996, the Commission approves the application for authority to delete the local head end at Lac-Nominingue and to interconnect this undertaking, via microwave, to the local head end of the undertaking serving L'Annonciation, also owned by Regional Cable TV Inc.
The Commission approves the licensee's request to delete the condition of licence relieving it of the requirement of section 22 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 (the regulations) that it distribute the priority signal of CBFT-1 (SRC) Mont-Tremblant. The Commission notes that, as a result of the interconnection approved herein, the licensee will be able to distribute this signal received via microwave from the L'Annonciation undertaking.
The Commission also approves the licensee's request to delete the condition of licence relieving it of the requirement that it distribute at least four television programming services as provided for in section 23 of the regulations. The Commission notes that the licensee now intends to comply with this section of the regulations.
In cases of interconnection, it has been the Commission's general practice to expect the licensee to reduce monthly fees for the basic service by an amount equivalent to the direct cost savings related to the interconnection.
In this regard, the Commission notes that the licensee proposes to maintain the current monthly subscriber fee of $25.45. After analysis of the information provided by the licensee, the Commission is satisfied that no fee reduction should be expected as a result of the interconnection approved herein.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
Allan J. Darling
Secretary General
