File No.: Tariff Notice 171
1. Québec-Téléphone proposed to amend its access tariffs relating to interconnection with interexchange service providers and resale and sharing.
2. Under these amendments, for each minute of traffic originating or terminating in the territory of an ILEC, the interexchange service provider would be charged the carrier access tariff approved by the Commission for the connected ILEC rather than that of Québec-Téléphone.
3. Québec-Téléphone proposed to make these amendments effective 1 January 1997.
4. On 30 July 1997, AT&T Canada Long Distance Services (AT&T Canada LDS) filed comments.
5. On 8 August 1997, Québec-Téléphone replied to AT&T Canada LDS's comments.
6. The Commission notes that the contribution regimes of Québec-Téléphone and the Quebec independent ILECs have been in effect on an interim basis since 1 January 1997.
7. In light of the foregoing, the Commission approves the proposed tariff revisions effective 1 January 1997.
