Telecom Order

Ottawa, 12 December 1997
Telecom Order CRTC 97-1831
On 17 September 1997, Priority Telecom Network, a division of Priority Business Services (Priority Telecom), requested a contribution exemption with respect to Centrex systems in the Arnprior and Renfrew exchanges, providing an affidavit affirming that the systems are limited to the provision of local or single-hop EAS (Extended Area Service) services.
File No.: 8626-P15-01/97
1. By letter dated 21 October 1997, Bell Canada (Bell) noted that Priority Telecom has not specifically identified in its affidavit which Centrex systems are the subject of its application. Accordingly, Bell requested that, prior to making a determination with respect to the application, the Commission direct Priority Telecom to file a revised affidavit identifying the services which are the subject of its application.
2. Although note is taken of Bell's statement mentioned above, the Commission also notes that Priority Telecom has stated in its affidavit that it is using Centrex systems in the Arnprior and Renfrew exchanges. Accordingly, the Commission is of the view that Priority Telecom has met its evidentiary requirements for a contribution exemption and that a revised affidavit is not required.
3. Based on the above, Priority Telecom's application is approved effective the date of application and a revised affidavit is not required.
