 Telecom Order

 Ottawa, 29 April 1997
 Telecom Order CRTC 97-573
On 21 February 1997, Québec-Téléphone filed an application for approval of tariff revisions to amend the rules relative to resale and sharing as well as to introduce tariffs for the interconnection of interexchange carriers and to revise interim 1997 contribution charges.
 File No.: Tariff Notices 157 & 157A
1.  Pursuant to a letter dated 7 January 1997, the Commission directed that Québec-Téléphone file interim contribution charges for 1997 based on the company's current interim 1996 contribution rate for trunk side access of $0.1791 per minute, taking into account the 1997 local rate increase approved in Telecom Order CRTC 96-1611, dated 31 December 1996.
2.  Accordingly, Québec-Téléphone filed Tariff Notice 157 which proposed a revision to its interim contribution rate for trunk side access from $0.1791 to $0.1706 per minute effective 21 March 1997.
3.  Subsequently, on April 4 1997, Québec-Téléphone accordingly, filed Tariff Notice 157A proposing to revise its proposed interim contribution rate for trunk side access from $0.1706 per minute to $0.0754 per minute and its current interim contribution rate for line-side access from $0.0635 per minute to $0.0641 per minute, and proposing 1 January 1997 as the effective date for these interim rates.
4.  The Commission notes that the revised contribution rates are calculated in accordance with the methodology approved in Regulatory Framework for Québec-Téléphone and Télébec ltée, Telecom Decision CRTC 96-5, 6 August 1996.
5.  In light of the foregoing, the Commission orders that:
The tariff revisions submitted by Québec-Téléphone under Tariff Notices 157 and 157A are approved on an interim basis effective 1 January 1997.
