 Ottawa, 29 April 1997
 Telecom Order CRTC 97-578
The Commission has received an application from Télébec ltée (Télébec) under Tariff Notice 123 dated 17 December 1996, as amended by Tariff Notice 123A dated 8 April 1997, for approval of tariff revisions pertaining to Internet access services.
File No.: Tariff Notices 123 and 123A
1.  Télébec proposed to introduce a number of dedicated access services to the Internet.
2.  Télébec also proposed discounts on tariffs for access services to primary schools, secondary schools and university students.
3.  In Tariffs for Educational and Health Service Entities, Telecom Decision CRTC 96-9, 27 September 1996, the Commission enumerated conditions that Stentor members would have to meet prior to being able to offer preferential rates to customers in the education and health sectors.
4.  The Commission also stated in that Decision, with regard to Télébec, that it would be prepared to consider proposals for the provision by Télébec of preferential terms to the educational and health sector, provided they respond to the criteria set out in Tariffs for Educational and Health Service Entities, Telecom Public Notice CRTC 95-44, 26 September 1995.
5.  The Commission considers that Télébec's proposal responds to the criteria and is reasonable.
6.  In light of the foregoing, the Commission orders that:
Tariff Notices 123 and 123A are approved.
