Decision

Ottawa, 7 January 1998

Decision CRTC 98-2

TMN Networks Inc.

Eastern Canada and Igloolik, Hall Beach, Pond Inlet, Arctic Bay, Resolute Bay and Grise Fiord, Northwest Territories - 199716271

Licence amendment for The Movie Network

1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-144 dated 4 December 1997, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence to carry on an English-language pay television programming undertaking to distribute the service known as The Movie Network, by authorizing the licenseee to provide its programming service to Igloolik, Hall Beach, Pond Inlet, Arctic Bay, Resolute Bay and Grise Fiord, Northwest Territories. The authorization for the provision of service to these communities will cease when and if the satellite transponder configuration or the technology is adjusted to facilitate adequate signal reception of the Superchannel service provided by Allarcom Pay Television Limited.

2. While the communities subject to this decision are in the service area licensed to Allarcom Pay Television Limited's (APT) Superchannel service, technical changes by APT have resulted in the Superchannel service no longer being receivable in these locations.

3. This change will allow cable subscribers in the above-noted communities to have access to a pay television service, until such time as APT is able to re-establish service to these locations.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.
