Licence renewal

1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1998-39 dated 22 April 1998, the Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Kitwanga, from 1 September 1998 to 31 August 2005, subject to the conditions in effect under the current licence, as well as to those conditions specified in the licence to be issued.

2. In addition, the Commission approves the application to amend the licence by deleting the distribution of CHCH-TV Hamilton and by adding the distribution of the CBC Northern Television Service.

3. The Commission notes that this undertaking distributes, in non-encrypted mode, the following programming services:

CITV-TV (IND) Edmonton
CHAN-TV (CTV) Vancouver
CBC Northern Television Service/Service de télévision du Nord de la SRC
Open Learning Agency (Knowledge Network)

4. The licensee is authorized to distribute these services on channels 2, 4, 8 and 10, each with a transmitter power of 5 watts, as certified by the Department of Industry.

5. The Commission notes that this undertaking also distributes the radio programming service of CJFW-FM Terrace, on the frequency 92.9 MHz, with an effective radiated power of 10 watts.

6. The Commission acknowledges the intervention in support of the renewal of the licence of this undertaking submitted by the Knowledge Network.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.
