Decision

Ottawa, 5 October 1998
Decision CRTC 98-481
Star-FM Radio Inc.
Chilliwack, British Columbia - 199804745
Licence amendment for CKSR-FM
1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1998-77 dated 30 July 1998, the Commission approves the application by Star-FM Radio Inc. (CKSR-FM) to delete the condition of licence requiring CKSR-FM to broadcast an instrumental music level of at least 35% of all musical selections played each broadcast week.
2. This approval is consistent with Public Notice CRTC 1996-116 entitled Amendments to the Radio Regulations, 1986 (the regulations), wherein the Commission stated that stations programming high levels of instrumental selections may vary the level of instrumental selections they broadcast so long as they meet the levels of Canadian content set out in the regulations. These levels are no longer governed by condition of licence.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
