Decision

Ottawa, 23 December 1998
Decision CRTC 98-536
Power Broadcasting Inc.
Kingston, Ontario - 199802476
Application processed by
Public Notice CRTC 1998-95
dated 10 September 1998
Decrease in power for CKWS-TV
1. The Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CKWS-TV Kingston by decreasing the effective radiated power from 164,000 watts to 162,000 watts.
2. The licensee indicated that this change is due to the reconstuction of its main broadcast tower which was lost during the 1998 ice storm. As a result of a higher placement of the transmitting antenna on the new tower, there will be a slight increase in CKWS-TV's coverage area.
3. The Commission authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned changes.
4. The Commission acknowledges the intervention received with respect to this application and is satisfied with the licensee's reply to the concerns raised.
Secretary General
