DECISION

Ottawa, 18 February 1998

DecisionCRTC 98-54

Global Television Network Québec Limited Partnership
Québec and Montréal, Quebec – 199716479

Increase in the power of CKMI-TV-1

Following Public Notice CRTC 1998-3 dated 26 January 1998, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CKMI-TV Québec by increasing the effective radiated power of its transmitter CKMI-TV-1 Montréal from 4,850 watts to 33,000 watts.

The Commission notes that the licensee has experienced poor reception in certain areas in Montréal and has concluded that the best solution is to increase the power in order to improve the off-air signal quality.

The Commission hereby authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned change.

The Commission acknowledges the intervention submitted by television station CFCF-TV Montréal wherein the intervener states that it does not object to the application as it allows the licensee to serve the viewers that it is already licensed to serve.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.

Secretary General
