Decision

Ottawa, 25 February 1998

Decision CRTC 98-65

1163031 Ontario Inc.

Across Canada - 199716643

Licence amendment for Outdoor Life

1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-146 dated 11 December 1997, the Commission approves the application by 1163031 Ontario Inc. to amend its condition of licence relating to advertising material by adding the following subsection thereto:

4.(e) In addition to the eight minutes of advertising material referred to in subsection 4(a), the licensee may broadcast partisan political advertising during an election period.

2. This application was submitted following Public Notice CRTC 1995-159 dated 26 September 1995, wherein the Commission announced amendments to the Television Broadcasting Regulations, 1987 that would allow partisan political advertising to be excluded from the maximum of 12 minutes of advertising per hour. In that notice, the Commission invited licensees of specialty services to apply for amendments to their conditions of licence that would permit them, during Canadian election periods, to exclude partisan political advertising from their calculations of the amount of advertising that they broadcast.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.
