| Revisions to Public Hearing Schedule | |
| 1. On 6 May 1998, the Commission issued Public Notice 1998-44 to announce a review of its Canadian television policy. In that notice, the Commission stated that it would hold an oral public hearing commencing on Wednesday, 23 September 1998, and ending no later than Friday, 2 October 1998. | |
| 2. The Commission now considers it necessary to allocate additional time to complete the oral public hearing. Accordingly, it has made provision for the oral public hearing to end on Friday, 9 October 1998, i.e. one week later than the date originally announced. | |
| 3. The Commission wishes to advise hearing participants and other interested parties that the hearing's panel will not sit at the following times: | |
| - the morning of Monday, 28 September (the hearing will resume at 1:00 p.m. on that date unless otherwise announced at the hearing); | |
| - all day on Wednesday, 30 September; and, | |
| - all day on Tuesday, 6 October. | |
| 4. Further, and unless otherwise announced at the hearing, the panel does not expect to sit on Saturdays. | |
| 5. Given the additional time hereby allotted to conduct the oral public hearing, the Commission extends the deadline for the submission of final written comments to no later than Monday, 9 November 1998. | |
| 6. The Commission reminds interested parties to monitor the hearing for information concerning any further procedural directions. | |
