One-year renewal

1.  The Commission renews the broadcasting licence held by TVOntario for the television programming undertaking broadcasting coverage of the Ontario Legislative Assembly, from 1 September 1999 to 31 August 2000, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licence.

2.  The Commission has granted this administrative renewal in order to allow the licensee to submit a licence renewal application that takes into account changes in the regulatory framework for television announced in Public Notice CRTC 1999-97 dated 11 June 1999.

3.  The decision released today does not dispose of any substantive issues that may exist with respect to the renewal of this licence. When a licence renewal application has been filed, it will be announced and interested parties will then have an opportunity to comment.
