Public Notice CRTC 1999-123
dated 28 July 1999
Licence amendment for CBK
1.  The Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CBK Regina, by authorizing the licensee to add a transmitter at Regina, operating on frequency 102.5 MHz, channel 273A, with an effective radiated power of 820 watts.
2.  The CBC indicated that the transmitter would improve the quality of the signal to some 80,000 listeners in Regina.
3.  The Commission acknowledges the intervention submitted by Radius Communications with respect to the frequency requested and is satisfied with the CBC's reply to the intervention. The Commission also acknowledges the numerous interventions submitted in support of the application.
4.  The authority will only be effective and the licence will only be amended when the new transmitter is constructed and ready to begin operation. When the licensee has completed construction and is prepared to commence operation, it must advise the Commission in writing. If the transmitter is not constructed and ready to operate within 12 months of today's date, extensions to this time frame may be granted provided that the licensee applies in writing to the Commission before the 12-month period or any extension of that period expires.
This decision is to be appended to the licence. It is available in alternative format upon request, and may also be viewed at the following Internet site:
