Decision

Ottawa, 9 April 1999
Decision CRTC 99-81
Radio Beauséjour inc.
Shediac, New Brunswick - 199803102
Application processed by Public Notice CRTC 1999-13 dated 15 January 1999
The Commission deletes the condition of licence restricting the amount of advertising on community station CJSE-FM
1. The Commission approves the application to amend the licence for the community radio programming undertaking CJSE-FM Shediac, by deleting the condition of licence which requires the licensee to broadcast not more than 6 minutes of advertising in any hour of broadcast, nor more than an average of 4 minutes of advertising for every hour of broadcast up to a total of 504 minutes of advertising per week.
2. The Commission notes that the region is also served by CKUM-FM Moncton, a French-language campus/community radio station. The Commission also notes that Les Médias Acadiens Universitaires inc., licensee of CKUM-FM, indicated that it supported the application by Radio Beauséjour inc.
3. The Commission also notes the interventions filed by L'Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada inc. and by the Local Service District of Grande-Digue in support of this application.
