Telecom Order CRTC 99-113

 

On 10 March 1998, La Compagnie de Téléphone Upton Inc. filed an application for approval of depreciation life characteristics.

1.On 15 January 1999, BC TEL filed an application for approval of tariff revisions to General Tariff Item 43, pertaining to One Free Month Centrex Winback Promotion to be implemented between 5 February and 5 August 1999 designed to provide customers with an incentive to change from an Alternate Provider of Local Services to BC TEL for the provision of their Centrex Service.

 

2.The Commission notes that in a letter dated 16 April 1998 re: Commission Decision Regarding CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee Dispute on Competitive Winback Guidelines, it directed that an Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC) is not to attempt to win back a customer for a period of three months after that customer's service has been completely transferred to another local service provider, with one exception: ILECs should be allowed to win back customers who call to advise them that they intend to change local service provider.

 

3.In light of the foregoing, the Commission orders that:

 

The proposed tariff revisions are approved effective the date of this Order.
