The licensee states that adding this transmitter should compensate for the weakness of the signal of the flagship station CIMT-TV in this region due to the particularly rugged terrain.

Application (199804696) by RADIO VILLE-MARIE to amend the broadcasting licence of the predominantly religious French-language (radio) programming undertaking CIRA-FM Montréal, by adding a condition of licence allowing the licensee to use a second Subsidiary Communications Multiplex Operations (SCMO) channel, for the purpose of broadcasting the programming of Radio Chalom. - by changing the location of the transmitter from the previously authorized Cantel site near Woodstock to the existing ATV site near Florenceville.
The licensee states that these changes would result in a slight change to the autorized coverage area of the Woodstock transmitter.
