The Commission has received the following applications:
WESTERN CANADA AND TERRITORIES REGION
1. BROOKS, Alberta
Application (199807658) by RAM RIVER CABLESYSTEMS LTD., 1001 Kingsway Avenue South East, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 2X7, to amend the broadcasting licence of the cable distribution undertaking serving Brooks, as follows:
- by adding a condition of licence authorizing the licensee to distribute, at its option, the programming services of KSPS-TV (PBS) and KXLY-TV (ABC) Spokane, Washington, received via satellite, as part of the basic service.
If approved, the licensee would cease the distribution of the ABC and PBS services received via satellite from Cancom.

Applications (199807062, 199807070) by SHAW CABLESYSTEMS LTD. for authority to add the signal of NASA Television as part of a digital service offering on its cable distribution undertakings serving Calgary.
The Commission notes that the applicant proposes to offer this service on a digital-only basis.

3. CALGARY AND LETHBRIDGE, Alberta
Application (199804878) by CRAIG BROADCAST ALBERTA INC., 535 - 7th Avenue South West, Calgary, Alberta, T2P 0Y4:
a) to amend the broadcasting licence of the (television) programming undertaking CKAL-TV Calgary, by decreasing the effective radiated power of the rebroadcasting transmitter CKAL-TV-1 Lethbridge from 51,500 to 46,600 watts; and
b) by relocating the transmitter of CKAL-TV-1 Lethbridge to a location 10.7 kilometres south of the currently authorized site.
The proposed changes will improve coverage to the south.

- by adding a condition of licence authorizing the licensee to distribute, at its option, the programming services of KREM-TV (CBS) and KXLY-TV (ABC) Spokane, Washington, received via satellite, as part of the basic service.
If approved, the licensee would cease the distribution of the CBS and ABC services received via satellite from Cancom.

Intervention
IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED BY THE COMMISSION AND PLACED ON THE PUBLIC FILE,
- submit your original written intervention to the Secretary General of the Commission (CRTC, Ottawa, K1A 0N2). A true copy MUST be sent to the applicant and proof that this has been done must accompany the original intervention sent to the Commission.

Each paragraph of the document should be numbered. However, your intervention and the proof of service to the applicant will also have to be filed in hard copy;
- please note, that only the documents (applications and interventions) electronically filed will be available on the Commission's web site. You will be able to access these documents by indicating the public notice or the notice of public hearing number;
- the intervention must be received by the CRTC and by the applicant ON OR BEFORE the deadline date indicated below. The Commission cannot be held responsible for postal delays;
- your intervention should clearly identify the application and indicate whether you support or oppose the application, or if you propose changes to it, include the facts and grounds therefor. In the event that the application is brought to the oral phase of a hearing it would be helpful to the Commission if you provide reasons why your written comments are not sufficient and an appearance is necessary;
Your intervention will be considered by the Commission, and will form part of the public record of the proceeding without further notification to you, provided the procedure set out above has been followed. You will be contacted only if your submission raises procedural questions.
