Application (199912457) by TELEMEDIA RADIO ATLANTIC INC.
This application is a request to amend the broadcasting licence of radio station CKHJ-FM Fredericton, by decreasing the effective radiated power from 100,000 to 78,000 watts.
The Commission notes that this change reflects the as-built parameters of CKHJ-FM and that there is no significant change in the coverage area.

GRAND FALLS, New Brunswick
Application (199918109) by TELEMEDIA RADIO ATLANTIC INC., P.O. Box 920, Woodstock, New Brunswick, E0J 2B0.
The licensee of CIKX-FM Grand Falls proposes to add a transmitter at Plaster Rock, using the presently approved facilities of its CJCJ Woodstock transmitter CJCJ-2. Telemedia has filed a separate application to delete CJCJ-2 from the Woodstock station’s licence.
CIKX-FM rebroadcasts the programming of CJCJ Woodstock, except for 2 hours 30 minutes of advertising per broadcast week, aired exclusively in Grand Falls.
The change proposed by this application requires an amendment to the licence of CIKX-FM.

WOODSTOCK, New Brunswick
Application (199918091) by TELEMEDIA RADIO ATLANTIC INC., P.O. Box 920, Woodstock, New Brunswick, E0J 2B0.
The licensee of CJCJ Woodstock proposes to cease broadcasting the signal of CJCJ from the transmitters CJCJ-1 Perth/Andover and CJCJ-2 Plaster Rock. The licensee has stated that Perth/Andover is served by CIKX-FM, a Telemedia station in Grand Falls. Telemedia has also filed an application to use the facilities at Plaster Rock to rebroadcast the signal of CIKX-FM in the Plaster Rock area.
The changes proposed by this application require amendments to the licence of CJCJ.

HAMILTON, Ontario
Application (199913934) by CFMU RADIO INCORPORATED, 301 Hamilton Hall, McMaster University, 1280 Main Street West, Hamilton, Ontario.
This application is a request to amend the broadcasting licence of radio station CFMU-FM Hamilton, by decreasing the effective radiated power from 250 to 166 watts.
The licensee also proposes to relocate the transmitter a distance of 2.5 kilometres to the existing CIOI-FM site located at Mohawk College in Hamilton.
The licensee states that these changes, including the proposed higher elevation of a new directional antenna would provide a better quality service to the City of Hamilton.

Application (199910964) by 1158556 ONTARIO LTD., doing business under the name of Celestial Sound, R.R. 1, Delnite Road, Timmins, Ontario, P4N 7C2.
The licensee proposes to add a low power FM radio transmitter at North Bay to offer the programming of CHIM-FM Timmins, a Christian music service.
The transmitter will operate on frequency 92.5 MHz (channel 223LP) with an effective radiated power of 50 watts. The addition of the transmitter will require an amendment to the licence for CHIM-FM.
The applicant states that the proposed transmitter will run the same programming at the same time as the main station in Timmins, via long distance land lines and with the aid of a remotely accessed local computer located in North Bay.

The licensee requests the temporary amendment of the broadcasting licence of the cable distribution undertaking serving part of Edmonton and area, during the Children’s Miracle Network Telethon. The telethon is scheduled to air from 7:00 p.m. on 3 June 2000 to 4:00 p.m. on 4 June 2000.
The requested amendment would allow Shaw to delete the carriage of KXLY-TV Spokane, Washington for the duration of the telethon, and replace it with the signal of CITV-TV Edmonton.
A condition of licence would be required to relieve Shaw from the requirement of subsection 7(a) of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations which states in part that: "A licensee shall not alter or delete a programming service in the course of its distribution except (a) as authorized under a condition of its licence..."
