Acquisition of assets

1. 9;

The Commission approves the application by 9091-8749 Québec inc. for authority to acquire the assets of the cable distribution undertaking serving Sainte-Aurélie, from 2971-6214 Québec inc., and for a broadcasting licence to continue the operation of this undertaking.

2. 9;

The Commission will issue a Class 3 licence to 9091-8749 Québec inc., expiring 31 August 2001, (the current expiry date), upon surrender of the current licence. The operation of this undertaking will be regulated pursuant to the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations (the regulations). The licence will be subject to the conditions specified in this decision and to any other condition that may be specified in the licence to be issued.

3. 9;

Alain Larivière controls both undertakings. He is transferring the assets of 2971-6214 Québec inc.'s undertaking at Sainte-Aurélie to his other company, 9091-8749 Québec inc.

4. 9;

The licensee may receive any authorized signals over the air, or from any licensed or exempted Canadian broadcasting distribution undertaking authorized to provide signals to other broadcasting distribution undertakings.

5. 9;

It is a condition of licence that, for community programming and any other programming of a service that it originates, the licensee adhere to the guidelines on the depiction of violence in television programming set out in the Canadian Association of Broadcasters' Voluntary Code Regarding Violence in Television Programming, as amended from time to time and approved by the Commission.

6. 9;

The Commission encourages the licensee to consider employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources (PN 1992-59)).
