Terms

2.

The licences will be in effect from 1 September 2001 to 31 August 2008.

3.

The Commission notes that this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and therefore files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources Development Canada.

Condition of licence

4.

In each broadcast year, the licensee shall caption 90% of all programming during the broadcast day, including 100% of all category 1 - News programming.

Commitments and expectation

5.

The Commission notes the licensee's commitment to broadcast a minimum of 15 hours of local programming to the Maritimes in each broadcast week.

6.

The Commission also notes the licensee's efforts regarding its coverage of issues and concerns specific to the communities served by its New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and P.E.I. stations, and expects those efforts to continue.

7.

Within its major regional news program, Global broadcasts a seven to ten minute segment focusing on New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island that is aired only on transmitters in those provinces. While this segment is being broadcast, separate information programming is broadcast on the transmitters in Nova Scotia. Global committed to continue to broadcast these segments during the new licence term.
