Licence to carry on a new television network |

1. |
The Commission approves the application by CTV Television Inc. for a licence to carry on a new, English-language television programming network. The new network will operate for the purpose of providing programming to CJON-TV St John's and its transmitters elsewhere in Newfoundland. |

2. |
The Commission will issue CTV Television Inc. a licence to be in effect from 1 September 2001 to 31 August 2008. The licence will be subject to the conditions set out therein. |

The Commission notes that this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and therefore files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources Development Canada. |
