Licence to carry on a new television network

1.

The Commission approves the application by CTV Television Inc. for a licence to carry on a new, English-language television programming network. The new network will operate for the purpose of providing programming to CJON-TV St John's and its transmitters elsewhere in Newfoundland.

2.

The Commission will issue CTV Television Inc. a licence to be in effect from 1 September 2001 to 31 August 2008. The licence will be subject to the conditions set out therein.

3.

The Commission notes that this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and therefore files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources Development Canada.
