Decision CRTC 2001-600

Ottawa, 21 September 2001

Director of Regulatory Affairs

RE: APPROVAL -- Application No. 2001-0398-7
Canadian Broadcasting Corporation -
CBJ-FM-6 La Baie, Quebec
Change in technical parameters and increase in Power

Dear Mrs. Morry:

This is further to your application received at the Commission to amend the broadcasting licence of the radio programming undertaking CBJ-FM Chicoutimi, Quebec.

The Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CBJ-FM Chicoutimi by changing the technical parameters and by increasing the effective radiated power, of its transmitter CBJ-FM-6 La Baie, from 8,9 watts to 15,5 watts.

The Department of Industry has advised the Commission that the application is conditionally technically acceptable. Industry will only issue a broadcasting certificate once it has determined that the proposed amendments to the technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with NAV/COM services.

In accordance with section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the above amendments will only be valid when the Department of Industry has confirmed that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate has or will be issued.

The Commissionauthorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned changes.

The Commission requires you to append this decision to the licence of your undertaking or, in the case where a licence has not yet been issued, to the original decision granting you a licence.

Yours sincerely,

Ursula Menke
Secretary General
