Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-26

Ottawa, 8 February 2002

Canadian Broadcasting Corporation
St. John's and Corner Brook, Newfoundland

Application 2001-1408-3

Extension of time limit to implement a new transmitter

1.

The Commission approves the application by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for an extension of the time limit to implement its authority for a new transmitter of CBN-FM St. John's at Corner Brook, granted by Decision CRTC 2001-6 dated 11 January 2001.

2.

The Commission grants the licensee an additional period of time, until 30 April 2002, to implement this authority.

3.

The licensee's failure to meet this new implementation deadline will cause this authority to become null and void, unless a request for a further extension of time is approved by the Commission before such date.

4.

The authority to operate the proposed transmitter will be effective and the licence will be amended only when the licensee has informed the Commission in writing that it is prepared to commence operation.
