Telecom Order CRTC 2002-428

Ottawa, 18 November 2002

TELUS Communications Inc.

Reference: Tariff Notice 502

Digital network access service

1.

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 13 September 2002, to revise General Tariff item 500, Digital Network Access (DNA), in order to identify the DNA rate band to which each wire centre or exchange is assigned.

2.

In its application, TCI noted that the proposed revisions were submitted in accordance with the Commission's directive in paragraph 248 of Regulatory framework for second price cap period, Telecom Decision CRTC 2002-34, 30 May 2002.

3.

TCI further noted that the revisions did not affect the service description, conditions of service or the rates and charges of the existing tariff. In addition, TCI noted that the proposed revisions reflected the rates proposed in Tariff Notice (TN) 499, as amended by TN 499A, to meet TCI's price cap obligations for the year 2002.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves TCI's application with the exception of the proposed revisions that reflect the rates in TN 499, as amended by TN 499A, which have not yet received Commission approval. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order. TCI is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith to reflect these changes.
