Co-location, operation, administration and maintenance arrangements |
1. |
The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 1 October 2002, to add Special Facilities Tariff item 301, Co-location of Customer-Provided Equipment - Specific Customer Only. |
2. |
TCI noted that, in a letter dated 10 October 1997, it had provided a list of co-location arrangements that were provided to customers other than Canadian Carriers prior to Co-location, Telecom Decision CRTC 97-15, 16 June 1997. TCI further noted that, in the letter it had indicated that upon their expiration, it would either terminate the co-location arrangements or migrate the parties to an appropriate standard tariff offering or special assembly tariff as warranted upon expiration of the co-location arrangements. TCI noted that the co-location arrangement proposed in this application represents one such arrangement. |
3. |
In its application, TCI indicated that the proposed co-location arrangement would be comprised of the following two service arrangements in Alberta: |
| - a co-location arrangement at General Tariff rates, for an initial 1-year contract, for the license of certain space and power required for customer-provided equipment in various TCI central offices; and | |
| - an operation, administration and maintenance arrangement at customer-specific special facilities rates, for an initial 3-year contract, for services associated with the co-location arrangement to support the customer's own network in various TCI and customer localities. | |
4. |
TCI indicated that, certain amendments had been made to the standard-form Special Assembly Central Office Licence Agreement approved in Co-location of customer-provided equipment, Telecom Order CRTC 2002-69, 8 February 2002, in the course of updating and finalizing this co-location arrangement for this specific customer. |
5. |
The Commission received no comments with respect to the application. |
6. |
The Commission finds the proposed co-location arrangement specific to this customer in item 301 to be appropriate. |
7. |
The Commission approves TCI's application. The revisions take effect as of 1 January 2003. |
