Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2003-305

  Ottawa, 22 July 2003
  Newcap Inc.
Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador
  Application 2003-0483-2

CKXX-FM Corner Brook - Technical change

1.

The Commission approves the application by Newcap Inc. to decrease the effective radiated power (ERP) of the radio programming undertaking CKXX-FM Corner Brook, from 47,000 watts to 40,000 watts, and to change the authorized contours.

2.

The licensee indicated that a decrease in the ERP and an increase in the antenna height will significantly reduce the multipath interference in the mountainous terrain in Corner Brook.

3.

The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
