CHNO-FM Sudbury - Technical change

1.

The Commission approves the application by Newcap Inc. to change the authorized contours of the radio programming undertaking CHNO-FM Sudbury.

2.

The licensee indicated that the proposed change involves the relocation of its transmitter to approximately three kilometres from the existing site owned by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Sudbury.

3.

The Commission notes that the change in the CHNO-FM authorized contours would result from the implementation of an effective radiated power of 11,000 watts granted previously by the Commission in Decrease in power for CHNO-FM, Decision CRTC 2001-597, 20 September 2001.

4.

The Commission reminds the licensee that, pursuant to section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, this authority will only be effective when the Department of Industry notifies the Commission that its technical requirements have been met, and that a broadcasting certificate will be issued.
