Telecom Order CRTC 2003-268

  Ottawa, 8 July 2003

People's Telephone Company of Forest Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 46

Trunk-side interconnection with common channel signalling for wireless carriers

1.

The Commission received an application by People's Telephone Company of Forest Inc. (People's), dated 3 June 2003, to revise section 230, Wireless Access Service, of its General Tariff in order to offer trunk-side interconnection services for wireless carriers to access CCS7 signalling messages.

2.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

3.

The Commission notes that in Regulatory framework for the small incumbent telephone companies, Decision CRTC 2001-756, 14 December 2001 (Decision 2001-756), it assigned the service in question to the fourth price cap service basket. In that decision, the Commission determined that rates for such service would generally be permitted to increase up to any already approved rate for the same service.

4.

The Commission finds that the proposed rates were previously approved by the Commission for the same service provided by other companies and, therefore, are in accordance with Decision 2001-756.

5.

The Commission approves People's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.

6.

People's is to issue revised tariff pages forthwith to reflect these changes.
