Terms of Service

1.

The Commission received an application by Bell Canada, dated 30 June 2003, to amend General Tariff item 10, Terms of Service, in order to:
|
|
|
· add a list of the acceptable methods for obtaining express consent for the disclosure of
confidential customer information, as directed in Confidentiality provisions of
Canadian carriers, Telecom Decision CRTC 2003-33, 30 May 2003, as amended by
Telecom Decision CRTC 2003-33-1, 11 July 2003;
|
|
|
· add provisions stating that express consent is not required where information is
disclosed to:
|
|
|
(i) an agent retained by Bell Canada to evaluate the customer's
creditworthiness or
|
|
|
(ii) a public authority or agent of a public authority, if in the reasonable
judgement of Bell Canada, it appears that there is imminent danger to life
or property which could be avoided or minimized by disclosure of
information.

|
2.
|
The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.
|
|
3.
|
The Commission approves Bell Canada's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
