Co-location arrangements for interconnecting carriers
1.
The Commission received an application by Bell Canada, dated 12 December 2003, to revise Access Services Tariff for Interconnection with Carriers and Other Service Providers item 110, Co-Location Arrangements for Interconnecting Canadian Carriers and Digital Subscriber Line Service Providers (DSLSP), to introduce Optical Interconnecting Carrier (IC)-IC Cross-Interconnection link service.
2.
The application proposed to expand the existing IC-IC Cross-Interconnection link service by adding speeds of OC-3 and OC-12, to the existing DS-1 and DS-3 link speeds.
3.
Bell Canada's application also stated that it received an urgent request from a competitive local exchange carrier for this service and so requested an exception to Section 31 of the CRTC Telecommunications Rules of Procedure in order to expedite approval of this application.
4.
The Commission directs Bell Canada to track from the date of this decision until the date of the Commission's decision on Bell Canada's application, the IC-IC Cross-Interconnection link service demand for link speeds of OC-3 and OC-12 for each Interconnecting Carrier and DSLSP that requests this service.
5.
The Commission approves on an interim basis Bell Canada's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
