Administrative renewal

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CJRC Gatineau, from 1 September 2004 to 28 February 2005, subject to the terms and conditions in effect under the current licence.

The application for the renewal of this licence was published in Broadcasting Public Notice CRTC 2003-55, 1 October 2003. Subsequently, in Broadcasting Notice of Public Hearing CRTC 2004-5, 7 July 2004, the Commission announced that it had received applications by Corus Entertainment Inc. for authority to acquire the assets of a number of radio programming undertakings in Quebec, including CJRC Gatineau. These applications are scheduled for consideration at a public hearing in the National Capital Region commencing 7 September 2004. The Commission will not be able to rule on this application before the current licence expires.

This decision does not dispose of any substantive issue that may exist with respect to the renewal of this licence. The Commission will issue a decision on the renewal application at a later date.
