Re: Request for revision of deadline for filing annual reports regarding cultural diversity corporate plans

Dear Mr. Charman:

Thank you for your letter of 15 November 2004 requesting that the Commission establish a new deadline of January 31^st  for all broadcasters required to file annual reports on the progress of implementation of their cultural diversity corporate plans.

Specifically, you state that the current deadline of December 31^st closely follows the deadline for the filing of annual return forms, which are substantial in and of themselves. You submit that a new deadline of January 31^st for the diversity annual reports would allow for more thorough and comprehensive submissions.

In view of these concerns, the proposed deadline of January 31^st is acceptable to the Commission.
