Telecom Order CRTC 2004-246

  Ottawa, 23 July 2004

Aliant Telecom Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 137

Unidirectional/preemptable video and audio channels

1.

The Commission received an application by Aliant Telecom Inc. (Aliant Telecom), dated 17 June 2004, to revise NBTel Inc.'s Special Assembly Tariff - Radio and Broadcast Services item B.61 in order to renew an existing special assembly arrangement for unidirectional/ preemptable video and audio channels between a number of locations within Aliant Telecom's New Brunswick region.

2.

Aliant Telecom indicated that the customer was in agreement with the revised terms of the renewal which provide for the continued use of the previously established service arrangement but based upon a reduced number of service locations.

3.

Aliant Telecom noted that, as the existing tariff description did not identify that the service consists of optical fibre and associated electronic equipment for inter-exchange video services, an amendment to the generic description of the service had been incorporated in this application.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves Aliant Telecom's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
