Telecom Order CRTC 2004-292

  Ottawa, 27 August 2004

Saskatchewan Telecommunications

  Reference: Tariff Notice 70

Managed Digital Private Line service

1.

The Commission received an application by Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel), dated 20 July 2004, to revise General Tariff - Competitive Services item 500.14, Managed Digital Private Line Service, in order to discontinue offering this service to new customers, and item 500.16, Digital Private Line Solutions Service Extension Features, in order to no longer provide the Enhanced Service Extension Feature to new customers. The Enhanced Service Extension Feature is used by Managed Digital Private Line customers.

2.

In its application, SaskTel proposed to destandardize Managed Digital Private Line service to new customers. However, SaskTel noted that new installations, changes of address, moves, rearrangements or additions to existing installations would continue to be available to existing customers. SaskTel also noted that the total number of customers subscribing to the service and the number of new customers for Managed Digital Private Line service have been declining.

3.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

4.

The Commission approves SaskTel's application. The revisions take effect as of 1 September 2004.
