Telecom Order CRTC 2004-314

  Ottawa, 17 September 2004

MTS Allstream Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 539

Channel charges

1.

The Commission received an application by MTS Allstream Inc. (MTS Allstream), dated 11 August 2004, to revise Supplementary Tariff - Special Services and Facilities item 5600, Channel Charges, in order to destandardize half duplex local data channels for new installations as the associated terminal equipment is no longer available.

2.

The company submitted that only a small number of customers subscribe to half duplex local data channels.

3.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

4.

The Commission considers that Note 3 in the proposed tariff is not clear and directs MTS Allstream to change the wording to: "No longer available for new installations."

5.

The Commission approves with changes MTS Allstream's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
