Withdrawal of the NAME THAT NUMBER feature

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 3 September 2004, in order to withdraw the NAME THAT NUMBER feature from its General Tariff item 300, Call Management Services, pursuant to paragraph 53 of Operator services - Reverse search directory assistance, Telecom Decision CRTC 2004-49,, 22 July 2004 (Decision 2004-49,).

NAME THAT NUMBER is an optional local service offered in British Columbia which provides a reverse search directory assistance (RSDA) capability that enables a customer to obtain the name and locality associated with a telephone number found in the company's directories by calling an access number.

In Decision 2004-49,, the Commission directed the incumbent local exchange carriers that provided RSDA service to either comply with its directives or to file proposed tariff pages to withdraw the service from their respective tariffs.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves TCI's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
