Telecom Order CRTC 2004-58

  Ottawa, 27 February 2004

TELUS Communications Inc.

  Reference: Tariff Notice 136

Amalgamation of tariffs items associated with toll-free carrier access multi-carrier selection capability

1.

The Commission received an application by TELUS Communications Inc. (TCI), dated 23 January 2004, to amalgamate tariff items associated with toll-free carrier access multi-carrier selection capability.

2.

TCI proposed to amalgamate the former TCI Carrier Access Tariff item 220 and the former TELUS Communications (B.C.) Inc. Carrier Access Tariff item 73 to the TCI Carrier Access Tariff item 220, Toll-free Carrier Access Multi-Carrier Selection Capability. TCI indicated that it would adopt the wording of the former TCI for developing the integrated tariff item 220, with the following changes: adopting the generic toll-free reference; renaming the existing options to be consistent with terminology associated with toll-free service; removing reference to FlexRoute but maintaining the specific routing options of time-of-day and day-of week; and amending the Alberta list of standard holidays to reflect the applicable holiday recognized in both provinces. TCI stated that the proposed changes would have no impact on the rates and on how the service is currently provisioned in Alberta and British Columbia.

3.

TCI also proposed to revise the specific date description in order to reflect that date route calls can vary by time of day.

4.

The Commission received no comments with respect to the application.

5.

The Commission approves TCI's application. The revisions take effect as of the date of this order.
