Deadline to commence operations

1.

The Commission approves the application by Northern Lights Community Radio Corp. for an extension of the time limit to commence the operation of the radio programming undertaking in Forteau, authorized in New community radio station,Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2002-53, 27 February 2002 (Decision 2002-53).

This is the applicant's fourth request for an extension of the time limit to commence the operation of this undertaking. The applicant stated that it has been involved in making financial arrangements in order to commence operations.

The Commission received an intervention in support of this application.

The Commission extends, to 27 February 2007, the deadline by which the operation of this service must commence. This is the final extension to be granted by the Commission with respect to the implementation of this community service.

5.

The licence for this undertaking will be issued once the applicant has informed the Commission in writing that it is prepared to commence operations. The authority granted in Decision 2002-53 will become null and void should the licensee fail to meet the new implementation deadline set out above.
