Subject: Public Notice CRTC 2006-14  

This refers to Opening Statements filed by certain parties on 2 October 2007.   Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership; Bell Canada ; Saskatchewan Telecommunications; and Télébec, Société en commandite (the Companies) filed an Opening Statement on 4 October 2007.   In that Opening Statement, the Companies noted that they had received the Commission's letter dated 3 October 2007 wherein it set out an approach and structure that the Commission intended to focus on during the upcoming hearing.   The Companies set out their belief that all parties should have the opportunity to file, or update their already-filed, Opening Statements in light of the matters raised in the Commission's 3 October letter.   Since then, certain parties have asked if the Commission would follow through with this suggestion.

Commission staff considers it reasonable in the circumstances that parties be given the opportunity, by midnight, Wednesday, 10 October 2007, to file, or update their already-filed, Opening Statements in light of the matters raised in the Commission's 3 October letter, serving a copy of such refiled Opening Statements on the other parties to the proceeding.
